The Gane Trust are offering a £1000 Travel Bursary

The Gane Trust are offering a £1000 Travel Bursary to a L2 UWE student within (formerly known as) Art & Design.

The aim of the bursary is to support and celebrate art, design and craftsmanship.

All Level 2 students may submit an application based on an international research project which should occur in the Summer of 2012. The research should be designed to help the student with a project or area of interest for their final year of study.

The deadline for applications is midday on Monday 26 March 2012.

Lucy Cox is available to help draft students’ applications.

In 2011, the bursary enabled Abbie Vickress from Graphic Design to travel to South East Asia for a month in order to research social design with specific reference to tourism, consumerism and tradition. Abbie reported on her findings to the Gane Trust in October, and many other students attended her presentation to hear about her research. It was undoubtedly a worthwhile and enlightening trip for Abbie – and one of your students could be granted the same opportunity this year.
